Happy Holidays! Have you finished your shopping yet? Or are you still looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones? Finding something for your eccentric aunt might be difficult, but at least your dog is probably pretty easy to shop for. A local Louisville, KY vet goes over some of the things on your canine friend’s wish list below.
Treats
There’s a reason this one is at the top of the list. We can’t blame Fido for loving snacks: we like yummy treats, too! Just stick with safe, healthy options. A little bit of bacon or sausage is fine, but don’t go overboard with these fatty foods. Ask your vet for recommendations.
Toys
Did you know that playing is very important for your canine companion’s health and well-being? Pick up lots of fun toys for Fido!
New Bed
Did you know that Fido spends up to half of his time sleeping? If your furry buddy’s bed has been worn down to a few pieces of material and some squashed stuffing, it’s probably time for a new one. (Tip: orthopedic beds are great for older dogs and large breeds.)
Pupscription Box
Want to keep that tail going all year long? Sign Fido up for his own doggy subscription box! Every month, your furry bff will get a box of goodies in the mail. This is a wonderful option for pups that go through toys very quickly.
Private Rec Room
Given the option, Fido would probably be delighted to have his own screened-in enclosure full of squirrels, mud puddles, and toys. Of course, that really isn’t logical. The next best thing? Bring him to lots of trails and parks. This is a great resolution for 2022!
Love
While Fido certainly enjoys all of the things we’ve listed, he really just wants to be with you. Pay some extra attention to your fuzzy friend over the next few weeks! This is especially important if you have a lot of visitors and commotion, as these sorts of disruptions can really distress pets.
A Home
Unfortunately, there are many sweet dogs out there who don’t have anyone to get them these things. If you’re ready to bring a new pet into your life, this is a great time to adopt one. Just think carefully before deciding.
